Our commitment

Donor trust is a long-term commitment.

SAFE is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Sober AF and Fun Entertainment, Inc.) operating in Colorado since 2018. We accept tax-deductible donations from individuals, businesses, and donor-advised funds across the United States. Every dollar we receive is reported on our annual IRS Form 990, available on request.

That means transparent program reporting, prompt tax acknowledgements, and a hard “no” to selling, sharing, or monetizing personal information.

Data security

How we protect your data.

Encrypted in transit
Every page is served over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate. Your browser confirms the lock icon before any form submits.
Stripe-handled payments
Donations are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1). SAFE never sees, stores, or transmits your full card number; Stripe emails each receipt directly.
Minimum-data principle
We collect only what's needed: name and email for receipts, a shipping address only for merchandise, and application materials only if you apply to a peer cohort.
No tracking ad cookies
First-party WordPress + LiteSpeed cookies for site function and a Stripe cookie during checkout. No advertising trackers, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics. Full inventory on the Cookie Policy page.
GDPR / CCPA rights
Request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data at any time via the Data Request page; we respond within 30 days.
Hosting + backups
Hosted in the United States on managed infrastructure with daily encrypted backups. Database snapshots retained 30 days; full-site snapshots 90 days.
Where it goes

How your donation is used.

SAFE is donor-funded. Your contribution flows directly to programs: peer specialist training, Naloxone distribution, sober-section production at events, and university collegiate-recovery partnerships. We publish program impact summaries quarterly to our newsletter list.

For donations of $250 or more, we provide a written acknowledgement that satisfies IRS Publication 1771 substantiation requirements. Acknowledgements are sent within 14 days.

Accessibility

Built for everyone.

SAFE is committed to digital accessibility for everyone. The site is built and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, with automated audits across sampled URLs.

We test with axe-core, Google Lighthouse, keyboard-only navigation, and screen-reader compatibility (VoiceOver + NVDA). We honor prefers-reduced-motion, use semantic HTML5 landmarks, ARIA where appropriate, and color contrast meeting AA across all standard text.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email safeevents@soberafe.com. We treat accessibility issues as production bugs and aim for a fix within seven business days.
